The VIVRE Take

Susurros del Corazón (Auberge)

If today you were thinking about a place where luxury does not announce itself — where it arrives barefoot, salt-crusted, with a surfboard leaning against the wall — you would eventually find your way to Punta de Mita. Not the gated peninsula where the big names compete for attention, but the stretch of coast just north of it, where the jungle tumbles down to white sand and the Pacific breaks with a rhythm that surfers have been chasing for decades.

Susurros del Corazón — Whispers of the Heart — is not a name chosen by a marketing committee. It is a declaration of intent.

Not all Auberge properties are created equal, and that is precisely the point. Where Chileno Bay in Los Cabos delivers Auberge through the lens of family-friendly beach club culture, and Esperanza through cliffside wellness, Susurros operates in a different register entirely.

This is Auberge at its most relaxed — a collection of villas and residences scattered along a pristine stretch of Riviera Nayarit coastline, designed with the kind of restraint that lets the landscape do the talking. The furniture is locally sourced.

The soap is locally made. Even the architecture seems to have grown from the site rather than been imposed upon it.

Beyond the exclusive, what really changes here is the relationship between indoor and outdoor living. The residences — ranging from three-bedroom villas at 3,200 square feet to sprawling four-bedroom haciendas exceeding 7,800 square feet — are not designed to be admired from the inside.

They are designed to dissolve the boundary between your living room and the Pacific. Private pools face the ocean.

Terraces are scaled for living, not posing. The Oceanview Residences, the newest phase of twenty-four branded homes, capture this philosophy with particular clarity: every unit oriented toward the water, every floor plan engineered to bring the outdoors in.

It is the type of difference you start to notice after the third morning. The way the staff remembers not just your name but your coffee order.

The way the spa treatments incorporate local botanicals rather than imported products. The way the surf instructor knows which break suits your level without asking.

Auberge has always excelled at this kind of micro-personalization, but at Susurros it feels less like a service protocol and more like a neighborhood where people genuinely pay attention. This is not a place for everyone.

It does NOT work for those who need a large-scale resort infrastructure — a golf course, a marina, a packed social calendar. Susurros is deliberately intimate.

There is no eighteen-hole course. There is no convention center.

What there is: a private white-sand beach, three pools, a wellness center that takes Riviera Nayarit's healing traditions seriously, and a collection of restaurants where the chef knows which fisherman caught your ceviche that morning. The interesting thing is that this exists forty minutes from Puerto Vallarta's international airport, on the same coast as Montage's incoming sixty-two-residence development and Four Seasons' established peninsula.

Mexico's Pacific coast does not offer one version of luxury. It offers a spectrum, and Susurros sits at the point where sophistication meets the kind of ease that cannot be manufactured — only cultivated over time.

The point is not whether Susurros is better than its neighbors. The point is whether your definition of luxury includes the sound of the ocean as your morning alarm, a surfboard within reach, and the knowledge that the most exclusive thing about where you live is not a gate or a brand name — it is the feeling that you belong.

Which version of living reflects who you are becoming?

Insider Note

Susurros del Corazón is actively selling across multiple villa types, from $3.9M Tortuga villas to $6.35M penthouses. This does NOT work for buyers who want golf, marina access, or a large-scale resort ecosystem. It works if your ideal morning involves walking barefoot to a private beach, and your ideal evening involves a chef who sources ingredients from the fisherman down the coast.
